Apologies for missing the original post in this thread.
Disabling SIP is only helpful if you are trying to start a Boot Camp virtual machine. For other VMs, there is no point in disabling SIP and it will only weaken the security of your macOS host.
Please find the vmware.log file from inside the virtual machine's bundle and upload it as an attachment here. I will take a look and see what I can figure out.
I would imagine that aghilarducci has either solved their problem or moved on after all this time, but if they are reading and still encountering the same problem, the same offer applies... post your vmware.log and I will try to figure it out.
